All of those presidents had mandates. Republicans under Clinton hardly worked with him. He still had a mandate after winning in a landslide in '96. @ExodusNirvana said that Obama had a mandate but according to his logic, Obama didn't have a mandate after 2010

Maybe in today’s climate a mandate is different. When the country wasn’t as divided, a president had a mandate spending on the size of his victory. The opposing party has to go with his agenda as we saw with Reagan.
