Wasserman been on point this whole season. He's the one that was explaining the district polling which looks better in hindsight to statewide which were off in many areas. Wasserman also called most of these states days ago with nothing but the number crunching facts.

But more importantly he explained the breakdown of the mail-ins and to watch out for the red mirage. shyt, even I was getting a little :whoa: about Pennsylvania but that red mirage shyt definitely lived up to the name... once the mail-ins dropped it was damn near a wash. :wow:

Cliffs:

- Biden is better for our country and will help heal international relationships
- millions more people voted for trump this year, his support will NOT go away and this is a recipe for more conflict in our country
- trump was not polling well on major issues like racism or coronavirus, his supporters do not connect that reality to their vote or what’s going on in their state.
- they would never vote for Joe Biden
- trumpists are not in denial as many would have you think
- trumpists see themselves as being at war against communism, mainstream media, science, the Democratic Party, ect.
- in wars, you lie, cheat, and steal in order to win. Some people will die, but that’s a necessary cost to win.
- when you are at war the norms of society evaporate and your actions are justified because your side is better.
- when downplaying the virus they KNOW that some of their own will die. But it’s worth it because trump must be supported.
- all of these are signs of a cult that has become a cultural force.
- trump supporters see themselves as agents who are individually recruited for the cause of supporting trump who will save America.
- god is on their side
- the Democratic process is fundamentally different when one side is operating as if they are fighting a continued war vs another side trying to stop authoritarianism
- it’s not enough to argue against a cult with facts and logic, we have to figure out a way to confront this mentality

This is what happens when the base has been brainwashed by right wing media and hate radio for 40 years. When you turn on Fox News or hate radio you have this war like propaganda of hatred towards the left. Not only that but conservatives live in an echo chamber where they watch fox news,OANN,go to breitbart.com, revolver.com, drudge, the Blaze then they go on social media pages where they meet like minded people and then they go on YouTube. They watch one far right conservative video to the next to the next until all their recommenced videos is hating the libs.

The other major reason for polarization is that the GOP is focused on minority rule. Thats why they have had this 60 year plan to control the Supreme Court. Hence why they can control the senate with ease thanks to gerrymandering. And they realized they can still win presidential elections without winning the popular vote. So they will reject true democracy and push for authoritarianism. They are not going to expand the tent. They will double down on gerrymandering and voter suppression. They dominate state legislatures all across this country. And since they will double down on minority rule they have no incentive to expand the tent. By controlling the state legislature they can pass any voter suppression laws. With the Supreme Court in their pocket they can strike down any voting rights reform passed by congress. By controlling the Senate they can hold the country back from passing meaningful reforms. The party can use racism and conspiracy theories to rile up their base to win midterm elections and maybe even presidential elections.

Even post Trump I doubt we will polarization end. It will get worse. Trump will poison the waters saying the 2020 election had fraud which will rile up the base much more. He will keep saying it and the conservative base will believe it. Plus with Dems seeming to suck at state Legislatures this give the GOP the advantage for gerry mandering for the next 10 years. All I will say is this strategy of minority rule is not sustainable for the the country. It will become a very destabilizing force. Imagine future presidential elections where Republicans continue to win via the electoral vote but not the popular vote because of voter suppression tactics and gerrymandering? And this all happens despite democrats having the demographic advantages? At a certain point it will lead to a conflagration.
