Trump campaign files new federal lawsuit over Nevada vote count
Las Vegas (KSNV) — President Donald Trump’s Nevada campaign has launched
a new lawsuit against the mail-in ballot counting process, this time in federal court.
According to campaign officials, they’re requesting emergency relief to stop counting thousands of improper votes.
“We have received reports of many irregularities across the valley,” said Adam Laxalt, Nevada’s former Attorney General and co-chair of the Trump re-election campaign in Nevada. “We believe that there are dead voters that have been counted. We are also confident that there are thousands of people whose votes have been counted that have moved out of Clark County during the pandemic.”
When asked about the new Federal litigation, Clark County Registrar of Voters, Joe Gloria said, “My response is that we are not aware of any improper ballots being processed.”

The new lawsuit comes as attorneys for Nevada Democrats and Republicans prepare to file written arguments next Monday with the Nevada Supreme Court.
The GOP is appealing a decision by a District Court judge in Carson City, tossing out a lawsuit requesting a stop to mail-in vote-counting in Clark County until observers were granted ‘meaningful access’ to the process, so signature matches could be better verified.
“We knew these [voter] rolls were unclean and were told that signatures would save us from all fraud,” Laxalt said. “But to date, we still have not been able to observe these signatures or meaningfully challenge a single mail-in ballot out of hundreds of thousands cast.”
Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford said he believes the state’s mail-in ballot process is sound, adding, “We expect to prevail in that appeal sometime next week, and listen, I’ve said it before. I will leave the hysteria and hyperbole to those who are attempting to undermine this process.”

Nevada State Democratic Party Chair William McCurdy released a terse statement, responding to the recent GOP legal maneuvers.
McCurdy wrote in part, “The writing is on the wall for the Trump campaign. As the voices of Nevadans are finally heard, Trump and the Nevada GOP have no other recourse than scare tactics and baseless suits.”
McCurdy added, “Republicans want to circumvent democracy because things aren’t going in their favor. But the will of the people will not be ignored.”
However, Ric Grenell, a top Trump campaign official, said the legal action is meant to protect all voters who cast legal ballots.

“A Harry Reid machine recklessly threw ballots into the mail and now, we cannot check whether or not they are non-residents.” Grenell added, “We are filing this federal lawsuit to protect legal voters. It is unacceptable in this country to have illegal votes counted, and that is what's happening in the State of Nevada.”
