Progressives need to stop talking about the word socialist at all. I was a Bernie guy that bit the bullet and voted for Biden because I wanted to support Blue No Matter Who. I supported Bernie because of his policies. That's why I detest the term Bernie Bro. I'm fairly progressive and we don't care who the politician is. We just want our ideas implemented. I'm behind Nina Turner to whatever extent she further pursues political office.

ANYWAYS....after the preamble, the word socialist has got the leave the mouths of progressives. if other people want to label us that, don't fall into their frame of trying to explain what the fukk the difference between a socialist and a democratic socialist is. Don't play by their rules. Reframe it and don't even use the word. Just say what policies you are for, and which ones you aren't for, and that's it.

Bernie could have been much better about this. "Am I a socialist? Well, I'm for Medicare For All, Anti-Interventionalist, a livable wage for all Americans, etc, etc. You can all that whatever you want but that's what I am." Dodge the label. When you start explaining why a democratic socialist isn't the same as a socialist, you've already lost. Hammer the things you know will resonate with voters and let them decide if they care about the label from the opps or not. Americans are too dumb and short on attention spans to parse out the differences. Just re-frame that shyt.

EDIT: You give a promise that you'll earnestly attempt to push for giving Americans Medicare For All during a pandemic and you have a strong shot to beat Trump soundly, no matter who you are.
I don't know. I'm at the point where I don't think anything can beat white supremacy.

we can do everything right and still fail. Thats why I reject the "hillary is a bad candidate" narrative. Sometimes, evil candidates win.

It didn’t work . That’s why I’m telling you all of it is indicative of a party with huge, key , foundational issues .
I mean, they're about to win MI, PA and WI, largely because of black turnout in Detroit, Philly and Milwaukee, so she didn't hurt him. :yeshrug:

TBH, very few picks would have moved the needle much. Sherrod Brown maybe would have got him Ohio, but I also wonder how black turnout would have been affected if it was two old white guys on the ticket.

it's possible it would have stuck. Again, I question now if Bernie was the guy to actually deliver his policies, but I think it was worth a shot. Because at the same time he couldn't be attacked on dementia issues or the '94 crime bill, or being another neo-liberal centrist. If the DNC had really put their money behind him and insisted Vote Blue No Matter Who, then I think it could have worked. Most of the Biden votes were to get rid of Trump. Let's be real. If Biden wins then damn near any Democratic candidate could've won, but it just wouldn't have been a big victory.

If Bernie ran on the platform of giving M4A to ALL Americans given that we are in a national pandemic, I promise he tickles up a lot of the black and latino votes that went to trump. Keep in mind white people (and mostly older white people too) were Bernie's lowest supporting group. Bernie actually had women and minorities very well fighting for him Many white men went back to Biden this year. So a lot of those white men give Bernie a shot yesterday, and Bernie could've kept a lot of the minorities and women from going to Trump. If people don't have to go bankrupt if they get cancer or serious Covid complications, I think they'd vote for Bernie or anyone else offering that deal.

People want some shyt to believe in breh. They want something to vote for. Bernie had a lot of mainstream things that people on both aisles wanted. 87% Dems support M4A you think they're suddenly gonna walk if he's on the ticket? That would have been red meat for the base.

Nah breh, Bernie didn't have it. Especially with the bold. I hear that a lot on the net but it never materialized during the primaries.

You don’t understand the larger point . It’s fine . Carry on .

Your larger point is irrelevant when it comes to VP picks, which is why you're unable to argue why.

Again Kamala continues to show her uselessness

We did call it, right? Kamala was the worst VP pick possible.

Every bit as bad as Tim Kaine...

Kept telling these nikkas she ain't doing NOTHING for Biden...

i knew Kamala was a garbage pick when NONE of the polling moved.

NONE of it.
bu bu bu bu but the fundraising...

Look how much money she generated...:heh:

Not the worst but she did nothing in terms of outreach, I think he should have chosen another black woman or a guy. Not the biggest deal.
