What can Biden do about gentrification? That's something that should be addressed locally. Its why local elections matter more and I wish more people participated during non presidential election years.
People do participate...
But this is a 2 party system and white liberal billionaire oligarchs are more powerful (politically) than the mostly under educated masses in metro Detroit.
And fyi Biden Could to so much- but wont and we will still be okay with it... because in addition to being oppressed and under educated the masses in major cities dont typically consider not voting for whatever selected candidates the dems put up.
There is a white mayor of Detroit and white governor who could care less because 100 Billion is about to be made off real estate, taxes and cannabis in MI
Corporatism....
And that would all be cool IF detroit black got something for Deciding the election year after year...
Which they wont due to the black police chiefs and preachers and Democrat party strategists here being paid off long ago...
Thats who oversees the masses in the metro area.
The black men who spoke up about it..... were mostly shamed into submitting

Progressives need to stop talking about the word socialist at all. I was a Bernie guy that bit the bullet and voted for Biden because I wanted to support Blue No Matter Who. I supported Bernie because of his policies. That's why I detest the term Bernie Bro. I'm fairly progressive and we don't care who the politician is. We just want our ideas implemented. I'm behind Nina Turner to whatever extent she further pursues political office.

ANYWAYS....after the preamble, the word socialist has got the leave the mouths of progressives. if other people want to label us that, don't fall into their frame of trying to explain what the fukk the difference between a socialist and a democratic socialist is. Don't play by their rules. Reframe it and don't even use the word. Just say what policies you are for, and which ones you aren't for, and that's it.

Bernie could have been much better about this. "Am I a socialist? Well, I'm for Medicare For All, Anti-Interventionalist, a livable wage for all Americans, etc, etc. You can all that whatever you want but that's what I am." Dodge the label. When you start explaining why a democratic socialist isn't the same as a socialist, you've already lost. Hammer the things you know will resonate with voters and let them decide if they care about the label from the opps or not. Americans are too dumb and short on attention spans to parse out the differences. Just re-frame that shyt.

EDIT: You give a promise that you'll earnestly attempt to push for giving Americans Medicare For All during a pandemic and you have a strong shot to beat Trump soundly, no matter who you are.
What wouldn't have worked, because the of bubble Repubs are in and the massive amount of voter disinformation. Bernie was being called a socialist in the primaries. It would have stuck.

And dumb fukks on here want to end ICE and give more of them citizenship...:heh:
I have to be careful how I word this because I'm conflicted a little bit on the immigration issue. But I'll say this. There are definitely people that want to end ICE because it "feels wrong" to them to deport people and separate kids from parents. A lot of dems vote based on how things feel to them, and I think some studies on empathy have been done and show that left folks are more likely to be more empathetic and kind/caring, and people on the right are more likely to be practical and pragmatic. I'll try to find the study because I want to cite my sources.

got a call for three nines
People want a coherent message on important stuff like healthcare, the economy not to be pandered to because of what demographic they belong to. Dems try and play the electorate like they are stupid. Trump may be vile but at least he's not condescending. Being condescending is the quickest way to get someone to do the opposite of what you want.
