I am absolutely floored on how Trump was able to expand his base considering his original 2016 base was diminished because of age. He really made inroads with white women, Hispanics (in crazy fashion) and some black men and women.

I’m absolutely shocked and fascinated by this. Absolutely shocked by this
Me too. I'm shocked that seemingly the only group he lost support from was white males.

I'll never trust another damn poll again.

Also, even though, it looks like Biden will win. It won't be the repudiation of Trumpism and the GOP that it should have been.

Sickening. I'm looking at many people in this country differently right now. This country is the f*cking worse.

As far as the Lation/Hispanic conversation, that will slowly shift in the next decade based on the youth moving in and the old moving out. That irrational fear of socialism/communism won't mean much to them.

Dems tent might be too big. They trying to be centrist while trying to pull in Progressives which in this climate especially is a task. Then you have minority groups which have their own unique challenges and needs. It takes some talented mafukkas to turn that into a cohesive and viable coalition.
pretty much why you need a cult of personality. the dems better find their next obama - someone with the credentials the coastal elites will respect, young enough to engage the youth, came from a very average background to relate to the blue collars/everyday man, a minority or someone high credibility in a minority community and a great orator who says just enough to excite you but not enough to turn you off (by sounding too progressive or too moderate)

Right. The Reagan/Bush days are over, for them it's the national populist shyt that Tucker Carlson promotes

But it must be quite difficult for a Dem to really wash the other side in a presidential race. The right will back any Trump-esque candidate.

This is gonna be tough to say... but Democrats would win if they went full on racist like Republicans. :francis:

This is what white folks want in 2020.

This is America. :wow:

When did that change? Cause I could have sworn that less than 20 years ago, Dems were the working man's party, the party of unions while the GOP was full of the rich conservative elite :deadmanny:

These fools flipped positions on us again like they did in the early 1900s
think a lot of it has to do w/ cancel culture and the transgender issues in the news.

it makes it easy for people to look at Dems as weirdos that the elite control to do their bidding (why you see all these pedo accusations).

Latinos tend to be conservative...they see all of that and want no parts of it...
...probably also why Trump gained some points on people of color in general.

Dems have to watch how far they take some of these issues...it ends up holding the party back as a whole because not everybody is socially liberal.

Romney was the last hurrah of the old guard. In the Trump era, it seems like he got a lot of the white working class, pro labor but socially conservative vote that Democrats got in the 90s.
