I think win, lose or draw Donald Trump will end up being a king maker for Republican politics going forward. He literally turned states red that weren’t projected to be red for years (Michigan & PA) and has made significant inroads with Hispanics that hasn’t been seen since George Bush in 2004 (which was all time shocking at around 40 percent).

As the 2018 mid term elections showed these Trump voters are not republicans (they were willing to take out republicans who went at Trump aka Mia love), they are Trump supporters and that’s a whole different ball game. Only people I’ve seen this with were Reagan, to an extent Bernie Sanders but neither has been more cultish like Trump supporters.

The window is limited. He’s core base is older and white. They aren’t a growing demographic in the country.

He won’t be anything. The rethugs never went along with most of his policies(wall, infrastructure)and he never pushed back/used his elbow to muscle them legislatively. They got their tax cuts and judges and that’s it. Plus trump doesn’t care about politics on that level. He’s similar to Obama where he’s aura doesn’t translate to others. this is part of the reason I find it so wild when people are like "yeah the instant trump loses the republican party gonna pretend he never existed" no they aren't they're going to court his endorsement for years to come. I think 538 said trump was favored to win the 2024 nomination if he loses

I just have my fingers crossed Trump loses Texas and Georgia, that should seal the senate and hopefully election reforms help texas and georgia become the swing states they always were.
