Next step is getting rid of this bullshyt :beli:

but we say this every 4 year a tho
Getting rid of the electoral college is virtually impossible as it would require a constitutional amendment which required 2/3s of congress which the dems will never get. The republicans will never agree to getting rid of the electoral college because from 1992 they’ve only won the popular vote once. That’s 6 of the last 7 elections. Why would they vote to remove their only valid path to the presidency?

Trump was on the ballot in 2018, that’s why enthusiasm was so high on the dem side. I understand being jaded but Trumpism has never been supported by a majority of the country

Trump’s approval rating has consistently been sub 50
I think Biden might win but Trump was:
< 50 in the 2016 primaries...he won
< 50 in the 2016 General....he won
< 50 in the 2018 election.....GOP expanded the senate

He cant be written off by approval ratings. This is a racist country. Its been racist since 1492.

The vote total does include mail-in.

Dems are barely up

Dems need to get their turnout close to 80% of registered Dems. GOP will at the end be up at around 83-84%.

The independents are in Biden's favor according to polling so if turnout can get a great tomorrow for Dems/Independents, Biden should be able to pull it out...

While peeps are Anxiety ridden for sure because of 2016, just remember a few things.
  • Trump didn't blow out Hillary in the tipping point states, Wisconsin included. It was very close, so it's not like Trump could just easily get those people back after 4 years.
  • Trump has always trailed in the polls, and Biden has always kept himself above 6% in national polling.
  • The mere thought of Arizona being a easy win for Biden, along with North Carolina, Georgia, and Texas of all places going to Biden... says alot about how Biden is making more in-roads than Trump, as Trump really for a tad bit had Minnesota as a possible flip to red, but that's it.

GOP expanded the Senate because the Dems had to defend seats in republican states like North Dakota, Indiana, and Missouri. in raw senate votes dems had 52 mil to GOPs 34 mil, it was just a bad map for the democrats. but states like indiana, north dakota and missouri dont get to make a difference in the presidential election

and in 2016 hillary was also < 50. biden isnt this year

In the 2016 General he was facing someone who had ratings even lower than him.

In the 2018 Midterms, Democrats still had their most successful midterm by popular vote in decades. Those Senate races were not guaranteed in even the best of situations.

I didn't say he could be written off. I said they have high correlations to success and Biden, for the most part, is above 50% favorability in almost every poll. The good thing for Biden is that he's an old white man in a racist country. That's why he's done well head to head with Trump for 2 years now.

At this point all the PA polls saying the same thing. 5-7 point Biden lead. That’s the ballpark right there, unless everyone is way off.

And it would have to be "off more than in 2016" off, and on top of that, we can see through early voting that more Dem voters and Dem-leaning voters are voting across pretty much every state - not just PA, but FL and AZ.

It would take literal changing of or discarding of votes to do anything, and even then, in TX the all-Republican Supreme Court let a bunch of Harris County drive-up votes that are going to be heavily Dem stand when they were challenged by the GOP.

This isn't to say that Biden is a lock because nothing is ever a lock in this country, but the numbers are basically telling us how this is going to go - 290 EVs at worst for Biden, and probably more than that.

Independents gotta bail us out in Florida.

Hillary lost by 111K votes.

So, Trump was +200K votes on Election Day in Florida in 2016.

But also, I think that he got the majority of the Independent vote because people didn't like Hillary.

This shyt is a toss-up. Miami-Dade is going to cost Biden the State

I think there is still hope in the fact that you can’t assume all registered Republicans actually voted for trump.

We will see, Biden’s offense is looking more sluggish than usual on the artificial Florida turf but this is why they play the games...
