This conversation ignores the fact that Trump is doing significantly worse with seniors, women, and white voters. A slight decline in black support isn't going to have any negative impact on Biden. And frankly I don't buy that it's gonna decrease BTW. I think Biden reaches or nearly gets to 08 or 2012 black vote totals (in term of total black votes).

Black people are less likely than whites to vote by mail. We're seeing record black early voting in the south, where there is more early voting availability. The early voting opportunities are limited in much of the rest of the country. I expect black people to show up hard on Tuesday in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, etc.

you can tell the people at your polling station all this and i think they might be able to let you fill out a provisional ballot. they might have a separate section for shyt like this in case

Exactly so I’m not concerned. Now long term? Sure. In a post-Trump election where demos go back to their norms (republicans winning seniors and doing better with whites) sure I could find this concerning. But I see no reason to believe black men would be receptive to a regular white man republican nominee. Trump is still seen as an “outsider” by some and given how certain people worship money/success plus hyper masculinity it’s not surprising some black men are dumb enough to fall for this. Would they vote for Mitt Romney types? Or even a Trump acolyte like Mike Pence? No.

The shot callers don’t run the train anymore. Republicans have always dealt with radical far right candidates who challenge the establishment. But they only managed to beat the establishment once (1964) until Trump. I don’t think we’re going back to another era of Bush, Romney, McCain republicans winning the nomination. It’s Trump’s party now.

Consider that if he loses the narrative will be that Trump was betrayed by the republican establishment who conspired with the media, elites, science, socialists etc to beat him. He’s going to be a tragic figure and someone will run on making America great again. Pompeo? Pence? Cotton? Who knows. But winning Trump voters will be key. That’s why I think people like Nikki Haley and Rubio are gonna get clowned hard. They’re gonna try to run an establishment campaign and get blown out.
