This is why I preferred that Trump not be impeached and removed. Trump is bad but there is a whole apparatus and style of politics he rode the wave in on that has to be humiliated and beaten back electorally to make them not be a factor in future politics. You want people to look at any possible Trump like a presidential candidate in the near future and think "We did that once before lets not do that again". You get that by making their defeat so bad it becomes like poison.

If they lose Georgia to the Democrats and Texas, the Republican party is going to treat Trump like he is a pedophile.

For everyone saying Georgia isn’t in play. I simply ask you read this article and consider this:

GDPR Support
  • 1 million new voters since 2016
  • 2/3 thirds of those are POC
  • Georgia generally is not a retirement state so it’s unlikely that older voters that skew Republican are the other third. It’s more likely those are younger white people that are college graduates.
  • The last three presidential elections were decided consistently in the 200K range
  • The last governor’s race was 50K
I think to dismiss the thought with the level of turnout already seen is not wise.

People keep thinking this is still 2016.

Its clear that many people not living here have a picture of this state in their heads.

A black woman ran for governor and came within 1% of winning and would've if not for active voter suppression.

Including the demographic change, why couldn't an old white man like Joe Biden improve on that result?

I'm not saying it's going blue but it's a race and the people who dismiss the very idea of Georgia being in play I believe have an agenda.... :ehh:

Exactly and like I said earlier. I was more skeptical than anyone on this until that article. I honestly think it’s 50/50 right now.

I think that’s the fair assessment right now. Further I don’t think there have been large demographic changes in FL so I get why that seems the same. Someone from NC would have to correct me but I think they have similar changes in the Raleigh-Durham corridor combined with a Dem governor and more recent Dem presidential success than GA.
