Trump is now effectively pro herd immunity. The economy is going to be destroyed if he isn't removed after the election.
I was thinking about this last night, and I hate to say it, but I think herd immunity is the only option we end up taking, even though it is objectively terrible.
Trump has already poisoned the well so much that people still aren't taking it seriously, and they won't take it seriously even as cases go up. If he wins, he'll be in pure DGAF mode, and if he loses, he'll be in pure "fukk you, Biden" mode until the inauguration. So he'll do as much damage as possible until then.
Then by the time Biden is inaugurated, we'll be coming up on a year of dealing with the coronavirus. Even the people taking it semi-seriously will be tired of dealing with it by then, and they're likely not willing to sacrifice two summers in a row. So we'll probably see the graph of new cases continue to look exactly as it has so far.
We're basically fukked until we get a vaccine and it's readily available to everyone, even if the Biden administration has an A+ plan to deal with the virus on day one, and Dems take the Senate and pass the HEROES Act.
