I hear you. I've been active in protests most of my adult life.

I'm 36. I am a father.

My father protested. Every night I went out this year he'd always call me and pray. He wanted me to stay home because of the climate, because I have my own family and what I have to lose.

And my mom politely reminded them of what they risked it all for.

None of us want our children to go through what we went through, but it is important to raise them to be prepared for it because it happens in damn near everyone's lifetime.

My entire point is we have to hold politicians accountable both as black people and as progressives.

My hyper criticism of Biden and the Democratic establishment doesn’t mean I support Trump. The Republican Party is antithetical to my my beliefs. I have been obsessed with getting Trump out of office since he was sworn in to office.

I’m also not a “but both sides” contrarian, all I want is to make sure black agenda and progressive ideas are pushed as hard as possible and when the Democratic Party fails to do that, we call their asses out.
