I don’t personally believe in trumps " silent majority " as it was in 2016, I see way more people openly supporting him rather thats with lawn signs or flags.
He didn't even win a majority. Didn't even win a majority in the states he narrowly won in the midwest.

Americans love competent leadership in chaotic situations. Trump would have gotten a huge bump. His numbers and approval rating was higher than the early part of the pandemic.

Even the civil unrest, just showing some compassion and pretending to take positive action would have helped him and we would have media focusing on Biden gaffes.

Trump would have won for handling the pandemic well.

Yup. There would have been a "rallying around the flag" effect.

Everything was gift-wrapped for him. He didn't even have to actually be a leader. All he had to do was PRETEND to be a leader. Instead of trying to project himself as a leader, he went around displaying incompetence and criticizing and blaming everyone else and suggesting that this wasn't a situation that required the president to step up and lead the way.

Basically, he could have acted like Bush in the post-9/11 early part of the Iraq War. That was the obvious playbook to reelection.

If Trump was a good manager/leader he wouldn’t be Trump, it’s pointless to assign Trump these what ifs. You could go as far as to say Trump would be a popular president if he wasn’t a buffoon and tried to be a President for all of America
Great, but all I’m talking about is his Covid19 response. If he handles that better, he is easily re-elected.
