I don't get the logic or point in expanding the court if you're just gonna leave it 6-5 conservative.

You can argue that restores "balance".

If you push it too far to gain "advantage" then that will open the door to similar moves in the opposite direction in the future, with no obvious termination point and/or argument against doing so once the "add as you will" precedent has been set.

Keeping the court 6-5 would be another useless liberal 'countermeasure' that would show they are too feckless to truly fight back. If you're going to do it, go all the way with it.

Expanding the court to just 11 would work only if they're banking on Alito and/or Thomas stepping down before 2024, or if they have a damn good shot at winning in 2024.
