yes. the dems had zero leverage to get that bill passed, and the starting point is 0 because not one cent of these bills are being paid for
You keep saying they have no leverage. The election is the leverage. From what i've seen, the republicans are taking most of the blame and its starting to reflect in the polls. As long as that continues, she can continue to put pressure on them

In the last 2 hours, Trump has

  • Held the stimulus hostage
  • Tanked the stock market because he held the stimulus hostage
  • Refused to let the CDC help with contact tracing as coronavirus runs rampant in the White House
  • Told the Senate to prioritize confirming ACB over the stimulus even though two GOP senators are sick

Can we call it now? I already thought he had no chance of winning in a free and fair election, but I don't even think Republicans are going to help him cheat anymore now that his stupidity is gonna tank their careers too.

if i was unemployed and out of money, and just watched pelosi turn down 1200 and 400 a week "on my behalf", i would be blaming her :yeshrug:

Such a blinkered view. I would argue, if I was unemployed and out of money, and watched pelosi turn down 1200 and 400 a week "on my behalf", I would be happy she is trying to get me as much as she can.

I would wonder why the president thought my needs could wait until after the election instead of negotiating in good faith now.

The same president I just saw infect the entire White house with covid.

breh, i dont give a fukk if a stimulus passes or not. i dont need a dime from the government

watching people defend pelosi leaving that relief on the table is crazy :russ: i feel like IM being trolled
We've agreed often in this thread, but you are off here. His approval rating is tanking and with it, any confidence in his management of the government's crisis response. Even his own advisers think this is stupid.

If anything, the Dems conceding on his terms would give him a bump.

Because she was negotiating?

She didnt unilaterally pull out and decide she wasn't negotiating, your president did that. He decided to make it an election issue instead of a 'what's best for the country issue'. No other way to see it.

And he has a record of politicizing this shyt.

Pushing for the covid vaccine before it was ready.

Putting notes in care packages to let people feel like they came directly from him.

Risking people around him to make it look like he recovered from covid.

He made the unilateral decision to withdraw. He specifically said, wait until after the election. Pelosi could still theoretically decide not to budge after the election, so this is all for the show.

This is on him.

You're dead wrong on this...

Not everyone wants crumbs and Pelosi ain't the reason these folk ain't getting paid...

Pelosi is doing her job and negotiating a deal for the American people...

Trump said fukk negotiating and cut off all talks, that's on him, not her...
