Didn't the Supreme Court recently shoot down something like this from happening? I thought they made it legal for states to pass laws stating electors must vote a certain way.
1) There's zero chance the Republican Party is going moderate for at least the next decade. With the way moderate Republicans have fled the party since 2017 due to Trumpism, there's a better chance of the Republican Party splitting into two different political parties than a moderate ever winning the Republican Presidential nomination.
2) Unless you have a crystal ball, there's no way to predict how Kamala Harris will be viewed by the public in 4-8 years.
