If there is capitulation just because the old guard is failing us then we deserve what we get. If the old guard doesn’t do what is necessary then vote those motherfukkers out in the primaries. There needs to be more political passion and awareness not less. People need to care more in primaries.

This is why Dems have to get out of the “Safe Seat” mentality. Just because it’s a Dem stronghold, doesn’t mean whomever you vote for is going to follow the will of their constituents. Especially those who are entrenched in the system. Name one person Feinstein has groomed in the last 20 years to take her seat or within the party in California. But how many times has she ceded her power to please Republicans?

No seat should ever be safe from the standpoint of the Democratic Party. I’m not saying primary with a bunch of yahoos, but like you said “People need to care more in Primaries”..... Stop voting incumbents repeatedly because they have a safe seat and it shouldn’t matter who gets voted in. It does matter. That’s how you get Schumers and Feinsteins. Not trying to actually change things gets you a Joe Manchin because maybe if WV wants a Republican Senator, they can actually vote one in. Obviously they don’t. They have to stop living in the margins.

Howard Dean didn’t want to make friends with Republicans and that’s why he got pushed out. He laid the groundwork for the Dems to take the House, Senate and WH, and coupled with The Obama Campaign’s groundbreaking data analytics/Targeting, it was deadly to the Republican Party. We see how much of a piece of shyt Rahm Emmanuel is, we see what happens when you focus on merely flipping x amount of seats in close races, and we see what happens when you don’t wield power. Word to Harry Reid.

They’re just gonna blame Bernie but man...what better death for white feminism than for it to be caused by their white queen justice who wouldn’t step aside and let a black man pick her replacement. She got an attitude over it during Obama’s second term, too.

You can kiss Row v Wade goodbye, it’s over.

This is apparently why Ginsburg didn't step down under Obama:
One of the things she says in response to that is like, Weird. Nobody was demanding that John Paul Stevens retire. Nobody was demanding that Stephen Breyer retire. So I think she does see this valence of sexism around it. There was this laser focus on why she wasn’t stepping down, and I think that offends her. For what it’s worth anecdotally, a lot of people have said that she watched Sandra Day O’Connor get forced off the court.

I think Ginsburg has said [O'Connor] was forced off before she was ready. And she could have been on the court for five more years or seven more years or whatever. And we don’t know what the world would have looked like. And I think that story is playing in the back of Ginsburg’s head when she’s like, No man is going to tell me it’s my time, because I saw that happen to a person who really, I think, in many ways was her sister at the Supreme Court.

Well, she got her wish :hubie:
