I will this about the most MAGA-ey diehard Trump cult members: they are 100% convinced he will win in November. Trust me.

They don’t look at polls with any objectivity or nuance and just hold the position that the “liberal media“ was lying—not erroneous in their analysis, but purposefully lying—about Trump being down in the polls in 2016. They think that holds true for 2020 as well. Read comment sections anywhere MAGA cultists are on the Internet. They truly believe this in their heart of hearts. They laugh and scoff at the notion of Biden winning and think Trump will win in a landslide bigger than 2016.

What are the implications of this? Other than it being hilarious to watch them if Trump loses, they won’t accept the election result. The bulk of Trump supporters will believe the election was rigged if he loses.

Get ready y’all.

They are deluded on most things. I think there will a fringe that will be problematic post election, but the vast majority will bytch on Facebook and move on with their lives.

Type of shyt that baffles me :dwillhuh:

How you gon have an 11 point lead on the top of the ticket and half that for Senate? This is New England but still, ticket splitting in voting is in ICU at this point in time everywhere, or should be
Collins has been in that seat for over 2 decades. She still has support there.

But her name is mud at this point. Not with everyone, but with enough the race should not be that close.
Also, Sara Gideon has less name recognition than Biden.

However, it doesn't really matter. It would be more satisfying to see her to lose by more than 10 points but a loss is a loss.

Long term incumbents are long term for a reason.
Yep. Maine also has a history of electing moderate Republican senators before Collins (Margaret Chase Smith, William Cohen, Olympia Snowe).

Maine hasn't elected a Democratic senator since 1988 (George J. Mitchell was re-elected to his final term, he retired in 1994). Angus King caucuses with Democrats but he is an independent.
