Which is exactly why this shyt will keep on happening. Tribunals are in order. Tribunals are policy. But instead we get pablum designed to pacify a nation of smooth-brained infants.
Running on a platform promising punishment for the incumbent administration isn't wise, unless you're Trump.

Candidates don't need to be involved in investigations on the campaign. Acknowledge the problem and move on.

Leave that for the incoming AG.

What's the evidence of bolded?

Saying candidates shouldn't be in the business of serving justice on the campaign is so dark and nihilistic.

I don't think it makes sense to focus on litigating investigations you don't have all information to on the campaign trail. That's not your job right now.

It's very easy to get on the wrong side of law from hearing surface info.

You can acknowledge it and point out that it is wrong but going any further just opens you up to a mess down the road IMO.

I don't know man, this feels like logic from the before-time. Who cares if you don't have all the information, you're on the side of the angels. I mean, my god, if not while campaigning then when? It's a fukking campaign! This is the time when he should have the least constraints on making strong, impassioned, righteous statements. Trump constantly weaponizes the unwillingness of Democrats to break the norms and centrist taboos that say "don't be too mean! don't rock the boat too much! this is all just a gentlemanly game! everyone shake hands at the end of this!"It's 2020, no one gives a fukk if you don't have all the information, being "inaccurate" is a minor sin now, washed away by the torrents of social media and the never-ending news cycle. Republicans understand this so much better than Democrats and its infuriating. It's a massive weapon the Democrats refuse to pick up. These people are removing the wombs of women at the border and we're talking about "well, let's wait until we have all the facts before making some anodyne statement", it's totally fukking deadening, zombie, bloodless behavior. Trudging towards the apocalypse.

It's especially egregious when your opponent is Donald Trump, who you should be able to beat with one arm behind your back. Moral moderation in pursuit of victory is one thing, but to do so out of habit in times of great turmoil is pathetic.

Whatever man, Biden 2020.

I really can't argue because I agree with you. Those news reports are some of the most horrible I have ever heard coming out of the US. To push this at Biden for not putting it in policy after the news broke a fews days ago is disingenuous though.

We believe the news reports. Biden, or rather, his attorney General is going to have to dig deeper and get the evidence when the time comes. To be honest I would rather he condemn it publicly and say nothing on policy, then launch investigations in January so the perpetrators don't have the time to run.

Hard truth. What you say works for Republicans, not Democrats.

Also if America didn't want moral moderation, Biden wouldn't be the nominee.

This town hall just reaffirms how insulated Trump has been these past 4 years. He's never really been pressured on policy bc between softball reporters, the non stop rallies, his team of Sycophants sheltering him, and only doing interviews with Fox news, he never faced the heat from the people. In fact this might be one of the first times I've seen him speak to regular black folk who weren't MAGA. He wasn't ready for it.
