Bush had 30% approval rating in January 2009.

Republicans have ran away from Bush legacy.

Prosecuting top officials wouldn’t have been unpopular especially as Obama rode high approvals throughout 2009.
Yeah, OK, it was a blunder on Obama's part. Doesn't really apply to now. Democrats are much more open to prosecuting Trump & Trump officials.

Voters are. But Richard Neal didn't even get this fool's taxes. Pelosi? Schumer? Biden? I don't see these people doing it.

The backlash will come from Dem voters who become confused and wonder why their beloved leaders don't use their power.

You can feel however you want :yeshrug:

Ford pardoned Nixon for any crimes he committed while in office. What was Carter or any other president to do?

You can come at Obama for not targeting Bush officials...cool. Does that apply to now and Trump? No. Biden has already said that he would not pardon Trump for any crimes he committed and would let prosecutors do what they want with Trump.
:dahell:

I said you justified their inaction, and you still are justifying their inaction. :mindblown:
Please re-read what you are writing.

That's been the precedent. :manny:
yes, and it ain't right. The President is above the law.

I'm telling you. They been telling us for years that Trump is a criminal, corrupt, violates the constitution and a danger to our democracy and then will turn around and be like "the past is the past. :manny:"

If you want to see a democracy die, not holding elected officials accountable for their crimes is a great way.

Neal, Pelosi and Schumer are irrelevant in this case. Biden said he wouldn't pardon Trump and let prosecutors do their thing.

Do you know what a full pardon is?

Also, fine, Obama should have prosecuted Bush officials. Now what?

They are relevant :dahell:

If Dems win the trifecta, they have enormous power to keep going after the crime family.

Unlike past times, I think the level of cleanup needed will have to entail prosecution of Trump and Co. to be properly done.

It would be hard to believe an AG like Schiff or Yates doesn't forcefully recommend going after them.

Congress has already referred numerous criminal referrals that Trump's DOJ has chosen not to act on. Let's be reality for a moment.

yes, and it ain't right. The President is above the law.
It's set in place to avoid the type of coups that happen in other countries.

The remedy in place is to remove them from office. Then cook. Elect better representation. That's the remedy.

But the truth is Trump was impeached and is allowed to be lawless because senate republicans have said they don't view it at lawless. :yeshrug:

Not really. Let the DOJ & NY prosecutors handle that. If they need anything from Congress, the Dems will provide.
