I know I miss when they would have acts like Earth Wind and Fire, James Brown, Prince and etc getting the lifetime achievement awards. Then I realized those are legacy acts to 80’s babies like me. These 90’s/2000 babies legacy acts are Usher, Mary J, Beyoncé etc.They need to make it multigenerational again. Too many song of the moment artists, which ain’t BET’s fault, that’s the industry, but they have no reach or name recognition. The big stars gotta stop acting too good for this show. And no performers for the boomers?

00’s BET awards always had someone from the 70’s/80’s performing or being honored, but they don’t do a good job honoring the 90’s now that that’s 30 years ago. And hella acts who were big in the 70’s/80’s still perform well and could be brought out to entertain my parents age. Speaks to the critique that black culture isn’t being transferred down the way it used to
