My student loans are paid off so I wouldn't benefit. So fukking what.

You're one of the few who aren't so bitter about some of us wanting our loans forgiven. Not everybody is lucky. I haven't lucked up on a great paying job since college to afford all this. At 17/18 years old, most of us just did what older people wanted us to do. :francis:

You truly have to be one tremendous d*ckhead to rid yourself of a stress inducing, mentally debilitating, financially untenable position in life and not only dislike the idea of others being rid of that burden, but want to actively take measures to ensure that they remain in such dire positions.

Deny lifeboats to others on a sinking ship cuz you learned to swim and they didn't, so fukk them if they drown.

what a surprise. Doesn't fit the narrative some folks want to paint tho.

I feel like this last one reflects this forum kinda well. You can see a mixture of left and center-left leaning people backing Warren (hence Harris and Pete as second choice), with Sanders supporters mostly ranking her second (and I assume third for Tulsi heads though maybe Yang or Gravel comes up for them). With Warren having more centrist support and Sanders having a shot at all the "most electable is my main criteria" Biden supporters; the battle between 2nd and 3rd is for the Biden voters moreso than over each others' support (a narrative pushed by the media and some heads here).

"When you say #cancelstudentdebt, you’re saying a minority of people who had the advantage of obtaining a degree should have their debt paid off by hardworking taxpayers, 2/3 of whom don’t have degrees themselves, or already paid their own student debt off.

This is immoral."

This is an outright lie since the plan would be paid for with a tax on stock transactions. The vast majority would be paid for by wealthy stock investors, who most likely have degrees.

They didn’t mind burdening them with that Wall Street bailout

What is regressive about a small tax on stock transactions?

I would imagine it's going to hurt people trying to retire and ordinary investors you know regular working people doing what the tax code demands
