Hard to imagine him picking Yang when it's virtually certain he's picking a woman.

I don't think he needs a moderate VP, just someone charismatic who gets people excited. Whether those people are moderates, independents, women, Black folk, Latinos....just so long as the VP handles themselves well and beefs up turnout in any demo other than the ones Sanders already has on lock, he'll be fine.
I need Nina Turner giving Pence the side eye during a debate :wow:

Have any names in mind? I'm partial to Barbara Lee but that's purely on her politics and not how she'd impact polling.

The best pick would be someone that could help tip the scales in Pennsylvania, Ohio or Wisconsin. I don't know if there is such a person out there though :francis:

VP pick that would galvanize moderates, neoliberals, media and pretty much most of the public would be Michelle Obama :mjlit: I was making jokes about it before but it would be wild if it happened. Only downside is that we would be a heart attack away from another centrist being in power again :francis:

Warren would be a great pick but I don't know if she would bring any new voters over to Bernie. But again in case of a heart attack she would be the best one to carry on with his policies.

Bernie/Michelle Obama ticket:wow:

But it might come off too
gimmicky. I actually think Tammy Duckworth would be a great choice. Young, veteran, Midwestern politician who moderates respect:ehh:

TBH none of the options hit everything for me. I really wish Stacey Abrams was more liberal and had held a higher level of office, or that Nina Turner held more meaningful positions with a bigger national profile. They're both probably in too much danger of the "too inexperienced" rip. Tammy Baldwin has been thrown out there (policies are good and she could pull Wisconsin but her national profile is pretty low and as was pointed out Dems could lose that Senate seat), Kamala Harris been getting named for a minute now, Castro and Booker would both be serious considerations if they were women. Warren is obviously a thought, but it would surprise me.

My ideal pick: The one where we're living in a timeline where Tulsi hasn't actually believed half the shyt she's done and said in the media, it's all been 8-dimensional chess to draw non-traditional non-Democrat voters to the Bernie-Tulsi ticket.

And then, of course, there's:

Only to be replaced for the 2024 reelection campaign (she'll be of age days before election day) with:

Really tough to imagine Bernie picking a Californian of her age who doesn't really register outside of those who follow politics.

Duckworth I think would be one of those great "safe" picks. She's got a bit of national profile, carries herself well, would be a FANTASTIC contrast in her sacrifice compared to President Bone Spurs. Policy-wise she wouldn't be my pick but it's not like the VP does that anyway, though you do want someone who can carry the torch next. Could potentially energize women, Asians, disabled while also giving veterans on the fence an excuse to pull the lever.

I like him overall but he has some centrist tendencies that make me raise an eyebrow but what about Rho Khanna for VP? He is young, POC with bonafide Progressive credentials but isn't polarizing like say a Squad member would be.
Would love a real Progressive from a battle ground state but really can't think of one who isn't Tlaib.
