What happens to the delegates of those candidates that drop out ? Do they just not count them ?

Edit : I dont know if candidates have to meet a delegate threshold like they do in the general elections, or if whoever has the most delegate by a specific date wins.
You need to hit a majority of the delegates by the end of the primary. The losers usually give their delegates up at the convention to the winner. If there is no majority winner we're in for some fukkery.

That said, politicians have a track record so long of not following through on day 1 promises(or promises in general) its really crazy to believe any of it.
I choose to focus on the direction they want to move the country.
