My friend who’s a doc texted me this

“Yeah it’s a heart attack, same as unstable angina more or less. He doesn’t need to drop out. Most of these pundits have diabetes I’m sure of it”

There isn't a candidate running free of health concerns to a certain extent.

The shameful laughable irony that most of these Bernie haters and media pundits don't see is that they're feigning concern for the man's health after having a heart attack so he should drop out.....when his signature policy proposal is MEDICARE FOR ALL.

As of Tuesday, he's become a literal personification of why he belongs in the race, juxtaposed with the callousness of those who oppose him and his vision of seeing all Americans have health insurance.

Strom Thurmond was 100 years old and still a US Senator.

John Mccain had active brain cancer in his 80s. Still a Senator.

Orrin Hatch a month shy of 85 before he retired as Senator.

Reagan was a month shy of 78 when his second term ended and had active documented dementia at the time.

Bernie Sanders does a dozen events a day in his late 70s but of course all we hear is "BERNIE'S TOO OLD!!! DROP OUT!!! :damn::damn::damn::damn::damn:"

Quite ironic the fear this man puts in hearts of his haters.
I don't think Bernie should drop out at all, but these are bad comparisons. We're not talking about Bernie at the twilight of his Presidency, we're talking about him at the outset of it. Thurmond, McCain, Hatch and Reagan were all on cruise control at the points you're highlighting, and only Reagan was in the office of the Presidency, which is leagues more stressful and difficult than being a single Senator. And I don't think pointing to Reagan's dementia-addled last years provides strong support to the idea that we shouldn't be concerned that a 79 year old man who just had a heart attack is about to assume a 4 year term in the most stress-inducing jobs on the planet. Especially when his model of Presidential power is a highly physically intensive regiment of constantly running around the country giving stump speeches and holding rallies, while committing to making enemies of and destroying not just the Republicans, but also establishment Democrats.

I love Bernie, and he’s my first pick, of course. But fukk, man. If he dropped out and endorsed Warren, Biden would more or less be fukked.

I dunno.

Bernie has no incentive to drop out. He's got the most cash on hand, the most dedicated following, huge amounts of volunteers... can't walk away from all that this early in the process.

He'd pick up delegates during the primary if he was on Burlington and in DC exclusively during the next 6-8 months and did no huge events.

They are smelling blood. These columnists are so mad he just walked out of the hospital feeling better and had to hold themselves back of slander for two and a half days instead of speculating that he was close to death. I think they wanted a live stream from Bernie's room in the hospital.

Why are they so worried? It's a two person race right? He's done right? Or is it because there's a chance Bernie out performs the polls again.

The Sunday morning shows tomorrow and days up to the debate are gonna be great!

I'd rather him support Yang if not ask him to be VP when/if he drops out.

One heart attack is usually followed by a second one at some point. Why risk that in the most stressful job in the world? Time for Bernie to call it quits :yeshrug:
