Just thinking about the last presidential election and how the press reported on the likely winner. I'm of the mind it is very likely the press and polls are gaslighting us heavy and Bernie is going to likely get the most public support.
I mean when the press goes overboard presenting a narrative I tend to believe the opposite is true. :yeshrug:
Anyone else?

I don't think there's anyway to tell until the votes are tallied. The press (speaking broadly here but specifically cable news) have a narrative which they will stick with regardless of whether or not the polling is accurate. I agree they're gaslighting heavy with the anti-Bernie bias but that in and of itself doesn't equate to there being an overabundance of support for him that's not showing up in polling.

My gut tells me you're right, but only time will tell.

Apparently this is from WFP or some other group supporting them. More alt left, Bernie bro nonsense :blessed:

I don't even care about this anymore -- they could just release the polling data and it'd be over in a second. This is Jeremy Corbyn is antisemitic but stupider. They just want to push a narrative that harms Bernie's campaign and paints themselves as the victims instead of just releasing the polling data like they did in 2015. Racists are definitely backing the social democratic jew.

MSNBC has been awful breh. Check this clip. They ran that NBC/WSJ for multiple segments two days ago saying Bernie is done but now it shows him gaining in a Fox poll and they make sure to let the viewers know Bernie's number is an outlier. Except it isn't and is in line with other national polling. Not like he just gained in a Univision poll as well

It's really infuriating. I used to be an avid watcher of MSNBC. If I was home I would watch Ed Shultz to Al Sharpton, skip Chris Matthews and then watch Rachel. After Trump won I dropped it cold turkey. I felt betrayed, I'm watching this to be informed and you gave me no incling Trump could win. WTF?! I hate feeling stupid and that's how I felt.

We're really gonna run back the 2016 primary except it's gonna be worse. Instead of just releasing the vote tallies like last time, WFP is gonna pick out 1 or 2 anonymous twitter accounts that say something outlandish to deflect and call it "white terror from the left" lol

The two accounts in question in the article is a black Jimmy Dore stan with 50 followers and an anon Native American person. That's it! Everybody else was asking for vote tallies. This is my favorite quote from the article
It was not immediately clear how many of the messages were sent by real people, how many were sent by right-wing agitators, or how many were sent by bots.
96 people signed a letter saying the Bernie campaign needs to bring in their racist supporters because of a couple anon twitter accounts. Finding a few anonymous people online into something that Bernie's campaign has to apologize for is something only reserved for him. Anyone can create an anon account called "BernieStan" and post trash on twitter

His comms teams is trash for taking the bait because it opens up the debate. Let's see if tomorrow MSNBC has panels stacked with 2016 hillary surrogates saying "look Bernie had to denounce racism in his campaign!" "Bernie's campaign is not inclusive like others!, this has been a problem for him for 4 years now"

Not even a surrogate, just randos on Twitter!

don't let this particular bullshyt episode get you down

ask yourself this: how many people even know what WFP is?

had you even heard of WFP before this week?

DSA endorsed Bernie STRONGLY and they have a lot more members than WFP

this is just the latest nonsensical attack on the most progressive candidate

don't worry, they'll say even worse shyt next month, and the next month, and so on

Brother Bernard reached a million donors faster than any candidate in history, chill

I agree with you but I just didn't like how Nina and them responded to it. You can disavow the posts but also say in your statement that we don't control anonymous twitter accounts that may not even be an actual supporter and it's ridiculous that ours is the only campaign this is demanded of.
bernie has to defend this and is racist to them but warren is allowed to have a whole base of nothing but rich white people and its cool. how come nobody questioning how undiverse warrens base is ?

They don’t care. Idk if you checked the list of people who co-signed the letter but its signed by a bunch of Twitter social climbers masquerading as activists and a bunch of people that were shytting on Bernie in 2016. That Anoa Changa girl is on there and she had a meltdown when Brie Joy was hired

This has nothing to do with social justice or disavowing racism — it’s weaponizing identity and accusing anon Twitter accounts of engaging in “white terror on the left” which is I guess is the same as bombing a Synagogue to them and applying it to Bernie’s movement even though he has the poorest, most diverse group of supporters

All those people are from the professional academic/activist careerist class that have different material politics from Bernie. I died laughing when I saw the #OscarsSoWhite creator signed on to that letter. Its such a hit job from people that think politics is tweeting and having the correct woke rhetoric.

Honestly this was a great ratfukking from the WFP and the people who signed the letter. I knew the Corbyn tactics were coming but not coordinated with the NYC/DC professional activists. I’m seriously questioning Bernie’s comms team, they had three years to get ready for the Clinton smears and they’re acting like it’s something never seen before. They are completely replaying 2016: criticize us, and you're sexist racists. Actual material politics? Irrelevant.

Its disappointing but I think it can be overcome

When Kamala first announced her run, she and her media surrogates tried to brand anybody that questioned her as racist or misogynist

And I hate to say it, but voters dont care no more. Trump won the white woman vote and got 30% of latinas despite his policies

When the race gets tighter, people will see through the BS. This will work for a few weeks though

"Looking at Liz's past is sexist"

Looks like someone found the accounts harassing the WFP staff...

https://time.com

The Party endorsed Senator Elizabeth Warren for President on Monday, staffers at the progressive group have received hundreds of furious messages, including several using racial slurs against black staffers and at least one celebrating a junior employee’s rape.

Maurice Mitchell, the National Director of the Working Families Party (WFP) and an organizer with the Movement for Black Lives, received messages calling him a “half man” and “Uncle Tom,” and telling him to “go back to his slave masters,” according to emails and tweets reviewed by TIME.

WFP organizer Ember Ollom, a rape survivor who has tweeted about her assault, received a message that said: “We were raped by this process, so I’m happy it happened to you.”

When Ollom tweeted about the harassment, more people responded to tell her she was lying.

Staffers also received messages and tweets that vowed to “hunt all WFP down” and said “may you all get cancer.” One staffer received a threat that someone would find where she lived
