I really enjoyed this. I figured they were starting to go with a redemption arc for the villain when he showed sympathy for not wanting to kill the civilian when she was trying to help Will and he said “no innocents” when the captain was killed.

I thought he said “no witnesses” but i guess that makes sense too. He never killed anyone who wasn’t connected to his mom or wasn’t already about that life

I was surprised at just how happy I was to see these two on the screen together again. There were times that I felt Martin wasn't full carrying his end on the comedy tip and was hit or miss but he had some funny ass moments too. Will killed it. I even liked the Ammo team. The villain was sick. He had some crazy scenes. I still put 1 and 2 over this one but not by much. I love em all. And it's some bullshyt if they don't come with part 4 now. I'm there day 1 again if they come with it.

Funniest thing to me is that Will being chasing hits for a while now and ignoring this franchise when this might've been all he needed in the first place.

This is a much-needed boost to Will's career and damn near revived Martin's as well.

FINAL MLK WEEKEND ESTIMATES

BAD BOYS FOR LIFE

DOMESTIC (64.6%)
$68,100,000
INTERNATIONAL (35.4%)
$37,300,000

WORLDWIDE

$105,400,000

*Record: Largest Midnight Previews Gross Ever January
*Record: Largest Opening New January Release Ever
*Record: Largest MLK Weekend Opening for New January Release (2nd Overall behind "American Sniper" which opened the previous year but went wide MLK Weekend)

qYf30U.gif

THEY DID IT. Each Bad Boys Film Opening Box Office Weekend increased from the last. "Bad Boys For Life" is the Biggest January Release EVER for a new release because it OPENED in January. "American Sniper" opened in December the previous year Limited and went Wide in January so it's not the same though it has the overall record. I know some people were saying "January was a bad release date" but I knew it would do just fine in this slot as both "Ride Along" films were able to be a success on MLK Weekend. Yes Normally January is a slow month but that leaves room for you to dominate. I would love Bad Boys back in the Summer but I think they should keep this slot and make it a MLK Holiday thing going forward like Star Wars does for Christmas. Comic Book Movies have over saturated the market especially for "Action" Films. "John Wick", "Fast and Furious" and "Bad Boys" being successful brings balance at the box office. I grew up on "Beverly Hills Cop", "Die Hard" and "Lethal Weapon" etc type of action films. I like Action movies like those so this is great news to see. .

Back in the day, these type of flicks would be released from late May (Memorial Day weekend) to early August. If the comical book era did one thing right, is making quality releases happen of all non-comic book films all 12 months of the year instead of just May to December.

Alright so, this movie nailed the humor. Will and Martin were great together. The directors also really managed to emulate Michael bay and did it fairly well. Me and my boys were dying watching this. One of the funnest theater experiences I’ve had in a while. When Martin is coloring his beard :russ:I thought everyone did a really great job.

why didn't Bay direct? i never study credits, so with his cameo, i assumed he was also the director

Apparently he turned it down to direct 6 Underground on Netflix. I hated that flick and I think the Belgian dudes did a better job on Bad Boys for Life than Bay would've done.

Action scenes in Bad Boys for Life definitely lacked the over the top insanity and ambition of Bay's action scenes but I liked that they were more coherent, easier to follow and didn't have a million jump cuts like a typical Michael Bay scene

LOL, i get that critique from a "how shyt should be done" angle, but i LOVE Michael Bay incoherent, over the top action fukkery. if i'm at a Bay movie, blow everything up, crash cars, make me leave and need to take a nap :russ:

Lol I mean I get it, there's a reason why so many people LOVE Bad Boys II as it's peak Michael Bay fukkery for better or worse. Me personally, I can take Bay's style in small doses but at some point it gets to be too much. I compare watching a Michael Bay movie to having a 3 hour conversation with a guy who's high on cocaine. It's fun and exciting for the 1st hour but eventually you get exhausted and just want the dude to either calm down or shut the fukk up lmao

the more I think about it the ending aggravates me. This dude killed a police captain, killed a federal witness, killed a judge, attempted murder on a cop, assault with a deadly weapon on another....and it ends with him getting the chance to reduce his sentence :mindblown: NO court/judge on earth would even consider that type of shyt

that was my only grip with the movie is to how quickly it shifted from a ruthless murderer to all of sudden him being one of the good guys for the upcoming movie. Captain wasn't just anyone, the fans grew to love him throughout the years and all of sudden he was taken away just like that. Was also close to Mike and Marcus so that emotional void didn't sit well with me. I would never forgive someone that killed a father figure of mine no matter if i barely discovered that was my son :mjlol:

where they cross-over and clap boards
Saw it yesterday evening :francis:

Couldn't even enjoy it without this loud ass couple a few seats from me talking throughout the whole movie. At one point bruh pulled out his phone and had a full conversation during the movie :gucci: His chick was telling the punchlines of all the jokes... I finally had to say something and they ended up leaving. Might have to go see it again.

Saw this on monday. It was a fun flick, the audience I was with definitely enjoyed it.

Will has been having some misfires, so it's good to see he got one.

Yeah definitely took Martin a minute to warm up.. but he did his thing:salute:

Legit thought the lead ammo chick was yesjulz :pachaha:

I don't see the son getting out and joining the police force. maybe doing some undercover work though :yeshrug:
