I haven't seen a match as clearly laid out minutely second for second down to facial reactions and camera shots in a long ass time. The very random stylistic flourishes of under body or in ring camera shots or when the fake crowd noises would suddenly cut out were weird as hell. When they started doing Steamboat/Flair spots and then trading pedigree and rock bottoms while commentary told you exactly what they were doing and referencing while a bunch of NXT trainees and mid carders chant this is awesome and fight forever while socially distancing behind hockey glass....fukking bizarre.

So I watched the Orton/Edge match and...wow.

Maybe I'll get around to fleshing this out at some point, but they somehow tried to put on a parody of what people think a great match is while the wrestlers themselves had an actual great match...? :wtf::dwillhuh::gucci:

Or at least a close enough approximation therof...while I hated how they abandoned the awesome old-school styled work of the first 15 minutes for move trading, callbacks, and counters, I was never bored at any point when I watched the match. I'm not sure if that's because of the match itself or because I was so fascinated by the production in general, but that counts for something.

:mindblown: I'm not sure if it's a disgraceful middle finger to anti-WWE/pro-NJPW and AEW types or just a match I should sit back and enjoy, but it's certainly something and really unique at that. I'm not sure if it's unequivocally good per se, but everyone should watch this at least once.

Also, Orton was REALLY fukking great in this match. Additional props for the super obvious leg slap at the finish as well. :russ:

Let me pre-quote Bruce Prichard real quick.

*sighs* It wasn't some flippy spotfest. Just a couple of solid workhorses who went out there & beat the living shıt out of each other & told a great story so therefore it was the greatest wrestling match ever.

Uhhh exactly. That’s what I’m saying. You have a great character vs 4 guys they just threw together because ether had nothing else to do. Two guys playing a very basic stereotypical black character and two Vikings.. yea broken Matt BS is way ore interesting :yeshrug:
:stopitslime:

gonna have to disagree on that one

Sorry brehs for the re-up but finally got to watch this. Can't believe I'm saying this but this shyt was absolute flames :krs:

Right off the bat with Fink and the WWE2K like zoom out/in when the bell rang :laff:

I actually didn't mind the piped in noise as it kinda of amplified the match to me. The over editing of angles and stylizing overall gave it the boost of fukkery it needed :pachaha:

Honestly I was entertained end to end. I like the story they started with, with Edge being a step slow. Then brehs went full tilt, followed by all the call back moves and finishers. I know 'the greatest wrestling' match was a running joke leading into this but damn if they didn't deliver. Might fukk around and end up Top 5 memorable for 2020 :wow:
