They say every year the latest iPhone is the best ever. That doesn't quantify how much better it is than the 7 and 8 models. With the 8 it shares almost the same internal hardware. I watched the Verge review and dude at the end wouldn't come outright and say it but he posed the question is it worth the $1000 price tag and he stammered over the answer with "well it depends..."
It just strikes me as if you have the money to burn this is a nice toy to have but it's not that much better than the alternative Apple options. Me going from a 6 to a 6s to a 7 each of those years I got the best iPhone ever and reflecting on that I just wasted my money buying products that were either marginally better than what I had or better in ways that made no difference to me as an end user.

My 7plus is on 11.2 and this came with 11.1 so I gotta update it before I can back it up.

actually not bad, I was shook when I saw how small the case was that I got earlier but this joint is sexy, and if they do an X+ next yr it may be the God Phone

I will miss my 7+ so much but the X that new wave. I really hope the make “plus” size version. I don’t mind this one being slotted (size wise) between the 8 and 8+
Gestures will take getting used right but it is what it is. I picked up at the 5th Ave store around noon and it was fukking pandemonium. Lines from 5th to Madison 4 deep.
People like me with reservations got to go right in. I would say a good 40-50 percent of the line was Chinese scalpers. Their “handlers” were waiting around the corner and it was mostly Chinese women buying phones.
Anyone who didn’t reserve/pre-order is assed. There’s no way Apple can make these shyts fast enough. And even at a $1000+ price tag there was no shortage of people packing those lines. I regret not getting another to flip.
Copped the leather case also but will wait on the wireless charger. Got PLENTY of stares and the silver/white one definitely stands out. Phone feels (for me) too small to rock without a case most of the time but if it was 8+ size, I totally would still since the glass is so grippy.
Also, these devs need to stop bullshytting and update their apps. They’ve had enough time.
