When you're in Bronze / Silver / Gold, you only need 1-2 kills to break even on the entry cost in ranked mode.

A lot of people find that if you're skilled enough (which they usually aren't), this is a more efficient way to rank up (i.e. hot dropping aka dropping hot), than to drop somewhere safe and play a 15-20 minute game where you only fight only 1-2 squads. This is why Respawn adjusted the RP from kills and positions to

I almost made it to plat 1 then I started getting matched up with bozos. I have to blame myself too cause I die trying to be a teammate

And if nikkas is talking shyt on the mic especially if they had they shyt turned off, if I could grab they banners I dont res them and get em tight or make em face that penalty

You’ll be good if you’re a decent player thru plat. I solo queued using Watson and no mic thru plat. Diamond is when shyt gets real

they also raised the kp earned from placement so you can rat till top three with 1 kill 1 assist or whatever and rank up reasonably fast

Next thing I know, a red shied Gibraltar with a charged up rampage is coming up the slope He got there so fast wraith and octane behind him. I let off shots but have to drop down and we get merked by another team

Yup, as you get up to the higher ranks like Plat 1 and up, the 3rd parties get disgusting. You find out quick your team has to have an exit plan/de-escalate strategy to gtfo when the 3rds start rushing in. That's why Valk, Wraith, Octane, Path and Ash are so useful.
