No it was because the USA wanted to piss off the Chinese because they are communist and helped started the Korean War, so they banned the Chinese.

Koreans asked their government...to ban hair from being imported anywhere else. Which gave Koreans a monopoly in their own country, which in turn gave them a monopoly in the USA.

Korean government did what was best for Korea. USA government did what was best for USA and in turn what was best for their ally, South Korea.

Governments install protectionist policies all the time when they are a neophyte economy which Korea was at that time. Governments punish opposing governments all the time economically.

This was just a synergy of interests...

Korean merchants didn't hold that much sway.

Yvette/Antonio keep black people realistic about our economic situation. Boyce/Anderson gives solutions about how to get some piece of the American pie despite racism. All four support reparations. What is there to argue about? This is so foolish.

we all live is a country where black people have to pay as much as whites for rent, food, transportation etc. Show me a black business undercutting Walmart then we can talk....but Walmart eats up small business & given black have little wealth can't pay them black markup prices!

I remember that. Boyce tries to give everyone a chance but that chick was so bogus. She was in the comments speaking condescendingly to anyone who disagreed with her. I'm still trying to figure out what school can be built with $400K...a school is minimally $5MM. I haven't seen her on Boyce's channel in a while though. Good riddens.

This is all that really needs to be said. These same posters claiming yvette is a defeatist but they are ones scared to challenge the same govt they pay taxes too. A prominent white candidate even ran on a pro reparations platform last election. With the mindset of some of these posters blacks would still be slaves and sitting at the back of the bus. Its much easier to use meaningless talking points than discuss actual data and numbers.

And Im also positive all they posters claiming black folks gotta be independent pay their taxes faithfully every year and wont be late for work tomorrow to go work for some white owned company. And even if they have their own "business".. the majority of black businesses don't even have any employees and are not scalable businesses. They are solo ventures or hustles which can be good for an individual if they make enough to live on but it does nothing for the collective. That's just facts.

same govt they claim they dont support provides social welfare, housing assistance, and healthcare for a larger percentage of black americans than other groups. And the govt is also the LARGEST employer of black people in the country. Black will never be able to separate from this country cause they built it, are intertwined with it, and almost completely dependent on it. That's the cold hard facts. At some point folks gotta deal with reality.
