Speaking of android, if anyone wants to test out some of the open-source text-to-speech AI models, these ones are completely offline:
(You do need to know your device's architecture but you can find that in your settings... my tablet was arm64, so I used Ctrl+F to find related apks)
and you cant test the piper-specific voices here:
From there, you just install and update your TTS settings to use the apk
