:whoo:

low key South Africans are running house music right now.

:dj2:
just now seeing this message but yea it's not a secret that South Africans are running things right now...House is like pop music in South Africa....a person like Black Coffee is Justin Bieber status over there in terms of popularity...what I find most amazing is that they actually play House music on the radio whereas over here the only place that you hear House on the radio is RootsNyc on 107.5 for one day out the week...SA is introducing new sounds, new styles and bring in new energy to the game overall...you got more young producers like my dude Da Capo getting into the game too which is dope...House music was always alive and well but they breathed more life into the scene

South African house pretty much took over kwaito in being the signature sound for South Africa. It has come a long way too from the initial big hits by people like Mujava, Bojo Mojo, Dj Fresh.Mujava's township funk did well on the international scene too and was featured in the New York Times.

Speaking of South African music i have missed some good songs released some years back

Good song but weird seeing Khanyi Mbau all over the video behaving respectably in traditional clothes

Zimbabwe-Oliver Mutukudzi "controversial" song that was interpreted as going after Mugabe

Great documentary following an African orchestra touring Britain came on BBC last night.

There's one moment (36:45 into the video) when they're on the London Eye and they just start rocking out which is amazing :blessed:

@Grams check 13:08, #MidnighBoyz getting a stadium tour at Old Trafford :wow::mjcry:

Music from the Sahel is quite good and needs to be promoted more. I understand the language barrier but Congolese music made it big throughout the continent and they sing in Lingala. Ali Farka Toure and Salif Keita are well known on the international scene but we need more from that region.

I had Youssou N'Dour on blast for a while, "Set" and "New Africa" stayed in my rotation.
