what happened to the 30 - 70 million dollar movie ?

They claim "people don't go to them" but it's nonsense... "Anyone But You" has made over $200M worldwide so far. It will be highly profitable.

Throw Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in a rom-com and it prints... imagine that. :ohhh:

Y’all talking about budgets, but were all up in Oprah’s ass over the actor’s salaries and conditions for The Color Purple. Films are expensive, especially when you have to pay actors. The well known actors want high salaries, and it’s difficult to get people into the theater without actors they know.

Studios stopped taking risks and all of the midbudget films went to Netflix

Then also what Matt Damon talked about on Hot Ones, streaming isn't as profitable as DVDs were so even if it a movie didn't do as well in the box office they could still make it up on the backend
