USA can't take FIBA lightly by any means. They need their A team everytime. The chemistry of these international squads blows them out of the water. Due to the lack of talent pool, some of these guys have been playing together since 16 years old for their international team. The lack of big man is concerning to say the least JJJ is not a typical big he's a finesse player that is not used to getting pounded.

Like I said before, it's gonna be tough with the back-to-back years for the WC and Olympics. You already have load managing throughout the regular season. Now, they have to chalk two straight summers to play international comp.

Look at all the non-US stars who are out: Jokic, Giannis, Murray, Wiggins, Embiid, Wembenyama, Sabonis, Rui, etc. Even Jose Alvarado is out. Not to mention, Porzingis got hurt in the run-up.

They really need to put it halfway between the Olympics again. There's just no way you're getting all these guys for two straight summers.

They don't need A team, they just lost to Lithuanian B team which was missing Domantas Sabonis who was the all star.

It's the chemistry. They think they can join team US for easy medals to their resume. I thought them bringing this C (not even B) squad would maybe mean less egos, but it's same shyt again, feels like there are several players who want to make their shots rather than pass the ball.

Quarterfinals about to start and they still treat first quarter of games like they are about to take easy W because they watched dream team documentaries lol.

This is a Fiba problem. It's a low quality organization who's current mission is not providing superstars, but making money out of asian audience.
This is a 3rd major world basketball tournament in Asia in past 5 years. Ridiculous. With bad reffing too (refs actually even tried helping US and they still lost).

Plenty of countries are angry at these fiba rules how you have to play endless qualifications during regular season, meaning some countries bringing local guys to win games, which they don't, and missing tournaments.

Slovenia won 2017 eurobasket and missed 2019 world cup because Luka was in NBA games when qualifications started. Things like that.

Probably the worst L since Carlos Arroyo and Larry Ayuso beating US by 20. Anybody remembers that game? They too sent US to knockdown in 1st half.
the USA didnt even medal in the last World Championship in 2019, they lost back to back games to get sent home with nothing

its all about how this team responds against Italy Tuesday and the rest of the tournament

Yup. I’m so annoyed that this tournament is in Asia again.

It needed to be in the Americas this time around. It’s not fair!!

I get it. May as well win gold this year, especially with easy road to finals.

I meant it as a single game performance. You simply can't allow 110 points, this is the most Team USA has ever allowed. I would understand if that was against a team with several legit NBA players. But they lost to a team that was ranked outside of top 10 by Fiba for this tournament. Same old no-chemistry performance thinking it's all easy wins.

Looking at wiki Argentina/Uruguay submitted a bid for 2023 lost and then 2027 but withdrew. But yeah China, Japan/Philippines and then Qatar is overkill

Earlier bidding workshop participant

The following National Federations not bidding to host the 2027 FIBA World Cup participated in a workshop held by FIBA on the Basketball World Cup 2027 bidding process:

Would love to see an African nation such as Senegal, Kenya or Rwanda host in the future

Embiid is a FIBA FA, the US will surely recruit him and all their size issues will be alleviated
