At this point I don't worry about contracts. To teams prove over and over again that the "cap" can be circumvented and they can sign who they want when they want. Just takes the proper accounting. I think people not in the business that try to figure that shyt out are wasting their time. I'm just glad the lions are finding ways to draft, keep and reward good players.

Exactly. People look at the total contract number, grab a calculator, divide by 4 and think that's what it is. In reality every contract is staggered to give the team flexibility. And the bigger the signing bonus the better. Grats to Kerby. Keep drafting young guys who can play and this is sustainable. We'll see how it plays out but if Mahogany's limited starts weren't a fluke and he's a legit starter come September? That's a 6th round dirt cheap contract for the next three years. Gotta keep hitting like that, alongside guys like Terrion taking the next step. I have full faith in Terrion btw.

Lions draft day 1...

The two guys I want the most are Mykel Williams and Derrick Harmon. I'd trade up with zero hesitation to get either of them if they're slipping. Unfortunately I doubt that will happen. Williams is basically what they want: big body, crush the pocket, elite run defender and can rush the passer. Harmon could be an elite interior pressure generator who constantly pushes QBs into Hutch (while freeing up linebackers).

I know we just signed Kerby but if Malaki Starks slips to 28? Zero issue taking him, he would easily be the best player left in 99% scenarios.

Offensive side of things best scenario to me is Grey Zabel. Can start at guard and move to center when Ragnow retires. Tyler Booker would be a dream too. Unlikely either are there.

It's such a weird draft. SOMEBODY is gonna fall. Just gotta see who it is, unless you trade up. And if everyone is gone? Trade into the 2nd round.

This year I don’t think anyone truly “falls”

I think Mock Drafts are going to be wrong as hell because they have been saying the draft gets flat talent wise and it not big difference between 10 and 50..but we see the same 32 get mocked every day

I hardly watch college football anymore so I don't know none of these nikkas. I just know if Brad pick him early, there's a 80% chance he's a future pro-bowler, and lions good enough now where they drafting for depth. So I like the pick just off gp:yeshrug:

Reminds me of Alim. At the time of that draft Alim was a NT with nimble feet and Levi was considered to be the 3 technique. Alim ended up losing weight and shifting to 3 tech where his agility makes him so effective. Tyleik didn’t generate much pressure during the regular season but then had 13 QB pressures during the playoffs. I see the vision.

My guess is he’ll alternate from 3 tech (rotation with Levi/Wingo) to NT (DJ Reader/Roy Lopez). That line is gonna constantly stay fresh and you won’t be able to run up the middle. And when Alim comes back shyt will get spooky.
