How they snub summer walker like that. She was def best female r&/pop, her or Doja Cat. But Summer Walker got all the female R&B anthems, she is the culture and her music is fire. I'm too old for this bullshyt. Awards are some fake ass shyt, fake ass entertainment lol.

It’s cause too many of them are social lefts stars instead of actual stars like what was mentioned earlier in this thread. They basically get the spotlight on them and break out too fast before they even have an identity, and that’s how the industry chews them up and spits them out so fast as well.

My goodness, i just saw lil Kim's performance. 
Big artists don't show up to these award shows for the same reasons the show is getting roasted as a whole. Imagine having some of the biggest stars out here performing and they have to deal with bad mics.
Then there's the fact that the overall sentiment towards pretty much anything Black is that it isn't as important. For years, BET Awards have been looked as low budget and even our own people look at the Grammys as THE awards show.
I don't really expect a BET Awards to pull out legends like that. Carl Thomas performs at a BET Awards and it'll be pretty much people clowning talking about "where they find Carl at", "he ain't had a hit since the Clinton Administration". Same with Jon B. And Ciara would definitely get lit up. Donnell Jones is also great, but I could see people roasting him like "who is that". God forbid any of these artists come on the show looking rough because Alexander O'Neal caught it the year he performed. The stills from his performance are still floating around as memes to this day.
