Edmonton's Connor McDavid picked up an assist for his 140th point of the season Monday in the Oilers' 5-4 win over the Coyotes, becoming the first player to reach the mark since Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr both achieved it in 1995-96 for the Penguins.

@MikelArteta ive always wondered this..do any Leafs fans consider the Senators a bigger rival than Montreal?
Seems like Ottawa should be Toronto’s main rival since they’re in the same province. I know Montreal has a storied history but the original Ottawa Senators were a dynasty as well & they have a lot of tradition.
Did a team not being in Ottawa till 92 kill any rivalry that could have been there?

nope
ottawa is just little brother. In the 2000s because of how the conferences were set up we had big battles with the sens when they had alfie, emery (rip), redden .
Canadians vs leafs has always been big since the beginning of the NHL, original six teams always have big rivals. Like for the leafs its always gonna be the canadians.

Went to an ECHL game last night to watch the Atlanta Gladiators play ..it was damn near a sell out in there & most of the folks were wearing NHL gear from different teams. Most folks had on Gladiators jerseys or hoodies, but besides that I saw Thrashers & Penguins gear the most.
NHL will do fine in Atlanta if they’re in the right spot in the metro area
