Went to the Canucks game last night. Got great seats for cheap because they're ass. What stood out most was how good Hughes and Pettersson are; to a lesser extent, JT Miller. Every time the team was making a push or controlling play, Hughes or Pettersson was on the ice. Hughes was out there half the fukking game playing with scrubs and still dictating play. He's amazing.

They had the three best players on the ice by far and still lost. They have to get these guys some help in the offseason because they keep the Canucks competitive with very little around them.

Yeah it is an absolute disgrace. There hasn't been a best-on-best international competition for almost a decade now. McDavid is never going to play with Crosby on Team Canada.

I don’t blame the NHL for skipping last Olympics, but skipping the 2018 one was just classic Bettman stubbornness and lack of foresight or business creativity working with IOC and IIHF. The World Cup of Hockey imo needs to be from mid-July to mid-August just before NFL preseason. Doing in September was dumb especially with that stupid Team Europe and North America nonsense.
