Boudreau crying on the bench before heading down the tunnel as the fans chant "Bruce, there it is."

What a fukking disgusting front office and ownership group in Vancouver. They deserve the absolute worst for how they've treated Boudreau.

I know they’re trash this season, but what’s the drama with the coach? I’m not up to speed on the situation

The GM (Jim Rutherford) has been shytting on Boudreau since the season began. Rutherford said they looked like shyt in the preseason and he didn't know Boudreau had an option in his contract for this year. Been taking potshots at him regularly with firing rumors circulating since October.

In the past 2-3 weeks, the rumors were going around that Tocchet was gonna be the next coach but had to wait a month because TNT has a clause in his contract that he had to give a four week notice. A week ago, Rutherford admitted publicly that he had been speaking with replacement coaches, which is unprecedented. So instead of firing Boudreau, naming an interim and letting Tocchet take over when he was eligible, the team has been stringing Boudreau along for weeks as a dead man walking.

Boudreau and the team have been getting asked about it for weeks. Besides draining the players and coaches, it has incensed the fan base. Just completely unprofessional and lacking any class, integrity or empathy.

Always good to see Team USA getting slapped up. I didn’t even know the World University Games was a thing, until about an hour ago.

But I thoroughly enjoyed it :ahh:

At this point, I think it’s pretty safe to say that last year wasn’t an outlier for the Isles. This team really missed the boat by not making a move for a goal scorer over the summer.

I don't understand what these teams are thinking when they fire coaches sometimes. Was Trotz supposed to do better than he already did with a roster without a point per game player on it? They had clearly been maxed out.

You need some offense in this league now.

I’ll never get why coaches leave a comfy TV job to take over a bad job. Tocchet was great with the TNT crew, it sucks to see him leave to take a position that will probably can him in a year.

$$$

Hearing Rick Tocchet's salary is $2.75M per year, signed through 2024-25 season. Canucks also still paying Bruce Boudreau $2M this season and Travis Green $2.75M this season

He was prob getting like 500k for that tnt gig
