Of course the ATL
Trae gets a lot of shyt on here, and I hate that they give him that foul baiting call as much as they do, I really do. It's cheap basketball....but I get the Hawks/Grizz games here so I catch them alot and mannnn, I thoroughly enjoy watching him play. His floor game is crazy elite. Extremely cerebral player.

As for the Hawks as a whole, y'all are missing nothing in terms of roster construction....so I have to ask, why aren't y'all what the Cavs are this year? I know players have been in and out, but this a deep, youthful and athletic roster ...so is it really Nate?

You could put all the blame on Nate (pace of play, shyt offense) and I wouldn’t disagree with you. But this is a limited team and I would disagree about roster construction. The team lacks toughness, size & consistent 3 pt shooting. JC has regressed on offense, Hunter is a non factor some nights, Bogi coming off the bench still doesn’t seem 100%…They’re talented enough to play well enough to fool you to think they could be a top 6 team and the schedule is favorable the rest of the way with a lot of home games but this is a play in team IMO and if they get out of the play in round they’ll be food for BOS/MIL

Offseason needs to bring major changes to this roster

Part of it is Nate, part of it is the roster is constructed with pieces that don't necessarily fit well together.

FWIW I like the moves we made at the deadline. They're small moves but moves that definitely improves the team.

Bruno - We finally have a big body that can bang, rebound, and defend the paint. This should allow us to be able to give Clint a night or two off to keep him fresh going into the post season. Even better that he's already familiar playing with Dre, Collins, Trae, etc. Good pickup that addresses a glaring need.

Bey - Plays hard. Got the pedigree to go for 50. Good spot up shooter and can move without the ball to get open. Should immediately open up more space on the floor (especially when paired with Bogi and AJ). This should pay dividends for Trae and Murray being able to get into the paint. This is a lowkey signing that could turn out to be huge if everything comes together.

Matthews - Career 36% shooter from 3. Could prove useful if needed.

Not only will they help this season but these moves will impact future roster construction. Landry Fields and Kyle Korver didn't build this team, compound that with Lil Ressler's influence and there's a possibility a few guys we see as core pieces could be expendable

Bey is definitely a steal and will give a spark off the bench

I wonder do we plug Bey in asap. Aj or JJ’s minutes are getting cut.

JJ probably going to see his minutes diminish the most but it really depends on how creative Nate can get with his rotations.

Trae/DJ both average around 36 mins per night. If Nate decides to go back to a 10 man rotation, That could be beneficial having both Trae/DJ more rested to end games.

Hopefully they experiment with a all-bench lineup of...

Big O
Bey
Bogi
AJ
JJ

I feel like Bey can help replace some of the shooting we lost with Gallo.

:mjlol:

It would be dope to let JJ and OO facilitate the offense tho

The Hawks are healthy and have a roster that should be able to push for a 5th seed. 5th and 6th seed race will come down to Hawks/Heat/Knicks/Nets.

Going forward, we got...

NY Knicks - 1 game
Heat - 2 games (both back to back)
Nets - 2 games
Wizards - 4 games (2 games will be back to back)
Cavs - 2 games (both at home)
Other games against below .500 teams - 6 games
Other games against .500 and above teams - 8 games

There is no reason for us to have to play through the play-in.
