Couple observations...
  • Time to give the keys to DJM. I love Trae but DJM have the ability to take over games both offensively and defensively. His defensive presence makes EVERYONE lock in. He's also more controlled offensively than Trae.
  • What the fukk is up with Clint? Dude be struggling to finish putbacks right under the rim. Like he literally have ZERO touch around the rim, damn near look like he be throwing the ball at the rim. He's also ineffective defensively at times. Is he playing hurt and we just don't know?
  • Dre should play the entire first quarters with Trae.
  • The biggest flaw this team have rn is missing a big body (size) that can at the very least, keep other teams off the offensive boards. THIS will be the Hawks achilles heel all season against teams like Cleveland, Toronto, Milwaukee, etc.

EDIT: Also, I've never seen a player called for as many 'tic-tac' fouls as Dre get called for defensively. I'm starting to believe Bogi when he said Dre is the only player in the league that doesn't try to sell fouls on defense. Dre may have to start doing that.

Clint had that surgery. He's still getting his legs under him. It will take sometime

What was the key last night???

Secondary scoring, and perimeter defense. The two biggest issues for the Hawks for the past 4 years. DJM thrives in those two areas. What a fukkin trade to land him :wow:

People can get mad but I prefer Murray's play over Trae's play

:manny:

Murray is our best player.

The best two way player, yes.

Trae is just going through a funk right now. He’s proven every year an elite offensive player in the league..probably top 3. He can score at all 3 levels, he’s a top 3 assist man in the league, & his gravity allows for other hawks players to have open shots. If Trae was bigger & tried harder on defense he’d be a MVP contender every year.

I’m not ready to throw the keys to DJM yet. Trae is still one of the best play makers in the league. We’ve seen him go days and weeks scoring 25+ plus while being efficient every year he’s been in the league. Every player goes through rough stretches in their careers. Let’s not be prisoners of the moment! He’ll turn it around.

We all know Trae is better offensively and is a top 3 offensive player in the NBA with Luka and Jokic. As he's lil Harden and Luka is big Harden. That said, Murray offensively is top 30 and he's top 10 on defense to me with us. So for me, he's the best player for the Hawks.

We can agree to disagree. But with that being said, Murray is a fukkin dawg and should elevate this team to the next level :blessed:

If Hunter can make a leap & Bogi can spread the floor they’ll be real scary to go against.

Murray is literally everything we all hoped Cam would turnout to be (talented 3-level scorer and high-end perimeter defender), but Murray is even better than that as he see's the floor just as well as Trae, can rebound, AND got that junkyard dawg mentality we haven't had since DeMarre Carroll was here.

We all know Trae is a beast, an offensive machine, and on his best days an easy top 6-10 player in this league that can put a team on his back and carry them all the way to the Conference Finals, but we also all knew that for the Hawks to actually get to the promised land, it would have to be one of the wings (at the time either Cam or Dre) making that leap to be that two-way Star the Hawks need and takeover the reigns as the Alpha. Neither Dre or Cam turned out to be that, but Murray is him, with a ceiling higher than any of us probably ever imagined Cam or Dre having. That game in NY set the stage for this to happen, the way Murray played defensively raised the bar for the entire team to lock in defensively. As great as Trae is and with as much heart he got, he is limited in that capacity.
