I've kept quiet on the Bloomberg stuff with regards to her because I'm still mulling over the priorities...I think voter suppression is a massive threat, so pulling in a massive donation to fight it isn't exactly something I could just swat away and be upset about. Plus, I think she hits all the bases that would comfort moderate voters while being better than most other options.

Co-sign all of this fam. Threading the needle between principles and being strategic is challenging but it shouldn't be impossible. Abrams' rhetorical spin to get that paycheck is what it is and I didn't think of it as damaging to any of my lefty goals. If she's sticking to the more important goals, I'm willing to make concessions to keep her in the mix and influential. Maybe she'll prove me wrong, but I see a valuable ally and I'll give her the space to work as long as she's not actively disrupting my policy goals (something that I think Bloomberg and Pete do at times).

And 1000% agree on voter suppression. I think that fight may be more important than one seat or one admin role, so if she's doing well in that fight than it could pay with many more people winning elections and moving us in the right direction. I feel like it gets downplayed a bit (hacking and rigging overtaking the conversation when suppression is blatantly out there).

So in other words, she’s a solid moderate concession, which is what I told him any leftist said. Aight, cool. His definition of “reasonable” is agreeing with him on something. He is a pedantic poster.

Abrams might be able to bring out more black voters (maybe) but what evidence is there of her appeal to “moderates? In 2018 she did well by winning 94 percent of the black vote in a state where black people are 31 percent of the population. She lost white voters by a margin of over 50 points. She barely won suburban voters off the strength of black suburbs but those aren’t the types of suburbs Democrats need to win the election. She wasn’t even in the ball park with rural voters. At best Abrams outperformed Hillary Clinton by 3 points in a year where Democrats were energized and Trump wasn’t on the ballot. I’m not convinced.
