Im not so sure Paul George has any incentive to go to a 30 win Laker team if they lose the pick. The big payday in New York doesnt seem like it was worth the trouble for Melo. (His bank account is probably A1 though)

If the Lakers lose their pick, I can't see George being traded to the Lakers. Can't trade back to back 1st rounders, and if the Lakers fall out of the top 3, Philly gets their 2017 First Rounder and the Magic get their 2019 First Rounder. The earliest first rounder they could deal would be 2021 I believe. Lakers would either have to pony up their young players or hope he makes it to free agency.

If it's about the health of the league the top 3 picks should go to all the Eastern teams.

The Lakers would be able to survive without getting their pick as it's pretty obvious Paul George is going there.

Beloved we need Lonzo on the Lakers for the culture. If PG makes that All NBA team, he'll have to stay to get that super max. It'd be dope if Philly; LA, and NY have the top 3 picks, but that's impossible so Boston/LA/NY will do.

Disclaimer: im a Warriors fan so I havent been paying attention to free agency.

I was under the impression that Paul George was going to sign there straight up, I didn't even realize people were speculating a sign and trade but yeah I dont see what he has to gain by going to a team that won't be back on track until hes on the back-end of his prime.
