Just looked at our depth chart for the upcoming season
Portland Trail Blazers 2018 Depth Chart - ESPN
We're fukked......
Cons:
Pat just got a guaranteed contract for the rest of the year and he's our back up SG,
Shabazz is our only backup pg ( )(another undersized guard in the game that's a defensive liability, who can't score. )
Evan Turner is the 6th man / backup sf/pg @smitty22 (no thanks )
Jake Layman has potential at the 3,due to his height and length but he was still garbage and not up to nba speed last year. Hopefully he progressed a lot more in the offseason, otherwise he's deadweight to us.....
Aminu is clumsy as heck is the starting PF, very turnover prone, and undersized at the 4 imo. He should be a 3
Vonleh has moments but can be deadweight at times he's really going struggle for minutes this season.
Davis is cool just undersized, at the 5, but they're trying keep him at the 4....
Meyers Leonard is our garbage back up center
Zach Collins is meyer leonard 2.0, with a lil bit better 3pt %, and slightly better rebounding....
Basically the 4 spot will be struggle for minutes. The 5 spot will be extremely discerning especially if nurkic goes down. The season basically over if davis and nurkic are both out for a lengthy time. ( ) Why couldnt we just secure a decent backup.....
Positives:
-interested in seeing Nurkic in the system, with a fresh real start
-Caleb is a beast, I expect him to be the starting PF by the end of the season. That dude is a zbo type player, if you wanted him in summer league. He was just in the right place at the right time. And doesnt really have to jump. Despite being undersized he has great length, and plays with a high basketball iq
-Mo Harkless should be a bit more polished
-Meyers leonard may finally be moved by trade deadline....
Either way I'm not expecting much. Probably 8-10 spot in the west. @Malta
