Uh oh, maybe the Singler thing aint a pump fake:
REPORT: Raptors and Thunder in Trade Talks Over Veteran SG
After trading DeMarre Carroll to the Nets, the Toronto Raptors are in need of a wing player to complement their dynamic duo of Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan.
Unfortunately, there just aren't that many good options out there, as evidenced by the fact that they're talking to the Thunder about trading for Kyle Singler.
Singler's peak as a basketball player came while he was still in college at Duke and they won the National Championship in 2010. He put up modest numbers at the beginning of his NBA career, but they've slid down across the board the last four seasons.
Last year he averaged just 2.8 points per game in 12 minutes. Yikes!
This trade would work out well for the Thunder as they'd get to clear out some cap space in an attempt to lure another player there and convince Russell Westbrook or Paul George to stay in OKC. It's hard to come up with any reasons why this would work out well for Toronto, honestly.
This entire trade scenario just further proves the point that the Eastern Conference is playing checkers while the West is playing chess.
The West is out here forming superteams while the East is stuck working with whoever gets left behind.
Let that Singler train gather some steam baby!!!!! Toronto, you'll low-key have a core, I
