In order for Boston to get Hayward and PG they'd have to renounce all of their FA cap holds, waive Mickey and Zeller, waive + stretch Jackson & Rozier, and not sign Yabusele/Zizic.

Then they'd still have to create another 19 million by trading away Horford or some combination of the other players on the team. Bradley + Crowder + Tatum would do it I think.

If we draft Isaac or DSJ the trade is fine. But as it stands we got murdered. We won't sniff the playoffs again for another 5 years.

As for Minnesota, the deal is phenomenal for them. It's not the same as in Chicago because first of all 35% from 3 is league average and acceptable, they'll make that up on the defensive end and furthermore transition offense. They only need a guy to spot up from the 1 spot and that's not going to be hard for them to find, and Towns is actually a shooter himself so the only player who'll need to play inside is gonna be their 4. Plus unlike Wiggins, Jimmy can create for more than just himself although he does love to iso. Everyone is going to get easier looks with him on the team, and he's one of the best closers in the game.

They might not click in year 1 but if they can get the right guys off the bench the team will be in the top 4 for several years.
I think LaVine is underrated, kid practically already a 20 point scorer, an extremely high level athlete, and efficient high volume three point shooter and only 22 years old. I don't think the ACL tear is that worrisome because guys have come back strong from it, and retained athleticism.

Butler and Wiggins are iffy from three, 35% may be league average but you don't want two league average shooting wings who don't take threes on volume, who operate on the same spots on the floor, and rely on getting to the line. Also, last year was these guys career year in terms of three point shooting, Butler is at 33% for his career. They still have Rubio at point who they are trying to trade and they're going after D-Rose who is not a threat at all from 3 at this point. Thibs just doesn't seem to understand the concept of spacing on offense going back to Chicago.

I'm sure after this trade they won't be getting Rose, remember those rumors started before this trade. As a guy who watched both players, Wiggins does take a lot of 3's especially from the wings and I think he has upside as a 3 point shooter, I think his percentage will be going up in years to come. Jimmy hits the corner 3 with ease, but from everywhere else it seems to be pretty much average. At the end of the day their half court offense is going to be fine because at any point they can give Towns the ball down low or on the perimeter and get out the way and regardless of what happens that's going to be a good shot. Wiggins is going to be more open than he ever was in his entire career.
