Otto is an underrated, really good player. The Wizards can't afford to lose him for nothing. Declining to match an offer even if its a max means you lose your starting SF who is the glue for one of the best starting units in the league. And he;s 24, and a trade piece.

The top of what? Like others have said, if Embiid doesn't get hurt they make the playoffs just fine.

Simmons, Fultz, etc.... they were in the running with McConnell and fukking Stauskus. All the sixers want to do is make the playoffs. And in an even more depleted east, is it REALLY that hard?

I wouldn't be opposed to the Kings giving Otto Porter a deal. They need a SF and he's young. He'd fit with their young roster.

Nothing is better for these young players than playoff experience. Especially if you can compete in at least the first round.

Then in 2 or 3 years when they're ready they already have that experience.

I don't think Porter is a bum or a fraud, but he's not good enough of a defensive player to warrant a max and as an offensive player he's entirely dependent on other players to be successful. John Wall deserves half of this guy's check either way.
