Listened to Vulnicura (Bjork), it's very good.
This is probably first impression hype talking but it's one of her best albums (ask me again in a week if I still feel the same way), the standout tracks being Black Lake and Family (when Family changes like 3 minutes into the track and those strings come in
) . Those two tracks right next to each other are so emotionally devastating, two punches to the gut. And the rest of the album is also pretty fukking sad, with some bits of hope here and there.
Nah bruh, that aint hype talking. Just finished my 3rd listen, but my first with the actually high quality audio final version.
Everything I loved initially is magnified X10. The strings are richer, the bass is deeper, the drums are punchier, the vocals are more heartbreaking.
This is a phenomenal album. No hype required.
Its crazy that it starts out so bleak and intense, and with every single track it just builds and builds.
Hit
Black Lake and you're like "aight, here's the high point its all downhill from here"
Then goes
Family and that thunder bass hits and you're like
how can this be topped, then them strings come in
Gotta be downhill after that, right? Then
Notget and
Atom Smasher bring even more epic sounds into the fold
The last 2 tracks, the Bjork produced tracks, both have that rat-a-tat-tat drumming smacking you the face while she wails away like she caught the holy ghost
Only weak point on the album is
History of Touches, but even that song has good lyrics and its only 3 minutes out of the 60 minute run time
I got 8 albums already this year leaked/released that are worthy of discussion/praise.....this is the best out of the bunch so far. My first 9/10 of 2015. Only had 2 all year last year (D'Angelo and St. Vincent)
