holy shyt. this could be the next chvrches or purity ring lol. better vocalist than both...and this song is the best shyt I've heard all year. I'm checking for em :wow:

I try not to critique others opinions on here, but I think you may be gassed a bit here

Its a nice song but it kinda sounds like a Florence and the Machine filler track

:ufdup:trying to vault her over the Chvrches singer. That bytch has character:ohlawd:

Any Pond fans here? Its 2-3 of the guys that play live with Tame Impala

they ran through Chicago Thursday night - AMAZING show

I gave them some hospitality after the show and blazed them up, they were goofy ass dudes

Saw Tame Impala live last week, simply amazing in concert!!

Yeah they are amazing live, Pond might be even better live though.

Where did you see them?

I thought Beards, Wives, Denim was great

LA at the Shrine Auditorium, good live show. We'll see if the guys go back out on a Pond tour soon after this Tame tour.

Pond just played in LA on Halloween night(@ The Echo). That was the end of their US tour, some of the guys must have met back up for the Tame show on Nov. 12th you were at

If you're a fan of James Blake, do yourself a favor and check out Jack Garratt. I've had this track on repeat.

The live version is also amazing.

Well, we have hit the dead period of the year when year-end lists start dropping, so here is my personal 2014 roundup:
Note: I still haven't given a thorough listen to Iceage yet, but at first glance its an honorable mention

Overall thoughts on the year: I don't know if I was being extra harsh or what, but very few albums wow'd me this year. I only rated one album at 9/10 on my final list, and only had 5 more at 8.5. But there were still a ton of great albums, just not many elite albums compared to a brilliant 2013. I hope that after scouring all the year end lists I find some more gems like I did last year with Tim Hecker's god-level "Virgins" and Oneohtrix Point Never's brilliant "R Plus Seven"....plus I may give other albums a closer look and they may get boosted if they click

2014 Album Of The Year:
St. Vincent "St. Vincent"
---When this came out I fell in love with it, but I said that it was gonna be a bad year if this ended up at the very top of my list. And sure enough, nothing came along that topped it. Flat out, it was the best collection of songs even though a couple towards the end were snoozers.

2014 Album Of The Year Runners Up:

Ariel Pink "Pom Pom"
Perfect p*ssy "Say Yes To Love"
Perfume Genius "Too Bright"
Eno & Hyde "High Life"
Cloud Nothings "Here And Nowhere Else"

2014 Honorable Mentions (spoiler tagged for space):
Azelia Banks "Broke With Expensive Taste"
Alvvays "Alvvays"
Grouper "Ruins"
Run The Jewels "Run The Jewels 2"
Pharmakon "Bestial Burden"
Flying Lotus "You're Dead"
Spoon "They Want My Soul"
FKA twigs "LP1"
Sharon Van Etten "Are We There"
Lykke Li "I Never Learn"
Parquet Courts "Sunbathing Animal"
Ought "More Than Any Other Day"
Hundred Waters "The Moon Rang Like A Bell"
The Pains of Being Pure at Heart "Days of Abandon"
The Body "I Shall Die Here"
The War On Drugs "Lost In The Dream"
Frankie Cosmos "Zentropy"
Angel Olsen "Burn Your Fire For No Witness"
Mac DeMarco "Salad Days"
Mas Ysa "Worth EP"
Bombay Bicycle Club "So Long, See You Tomorrow"

--Oh, and I still can't decide whether I like or hate the Sun Kil Moon and Scott Walker/Sunn O albums......I'm leaning towards loving the Scott/Sunn and hating the Sun Kil Moon...but my opinions change by the moment

Other Notable Releases (spoiler tagged for space):

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib "Pinata"
Arca "Xen"
Swans "To Be Kind"
Millie & Andrea "Drop The Vowels"
Future Islands "Singles"
Marissa Nadler "July"
Actress "Ghettoville"
Temples "Sun Structures"
Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra "fukk Off Get Free We Pour Light On Everything"
Real Estate "Atlas"

2014 Song Of The Year:
Future Islands "Seasons"
---I gotta admit that the Letterman performance heavily swayed my choice here. But god damn, this is just a great pop song from start to finish and I put it at #1 over other choices that may have been more 'epic'

2014 Song Of The Year Runners Up:
Ariel Pink "Not Enough Violence"
Sorry, can't find link
Eno & Hyde "Return"
Sorry, can't find link
Alvvays "Archie, Marry Me"

Millie & Andrea "Stay Ugly"

FKA Twigs "Two Weeks"

St. Vincent "Birth In Reverse" & "Prince Johnny"
