Well, we have hit the dead period of the year when year-end lists start dropping, so here is my personal 2014 roundup: Note: I still haven't given a thorough listen to Iceage yet, but at first glance its an honorable mention
Overall thoughts on the year: I don't know if I was being extra harsh or what, but very few albums wow'd me this year. I only rated one album at 9/10 on my final list, and only had 5 more at 8.5. But there were still a ton of great albums, just not many elite albums compared to a brilliant 2013. I hope that after scouring all the year end lists I find some more gems like I did last year with Tim Hecker's god-level "Virgins" and Oneohtrix Point Never's brilliant "R Plus Seven"....plus I may give other albums a closer look and they may get boosted if they click
2014 Album Of The Year: St. Vincent "St. Vincent"
---When this came out I fell in love with it, but I said that it was gonna be a bad year if this ended up at the very top of my list. And sure enough, nothing came along that topped it. Flat out, it was the best collection of songs even though a couple towards the end were snoozers.
